Candied Carrots

Candy carrots year round, and especially at Thanksgiving. They're a brilliantly colorful addition to the traditional holiday spread.

Use this recipe with any root vegetables throughout the fall and winter. 

Yield: 4 , Prep time: 10 minutes , Cook time: 10 minutes



1. Prepare your carrots: remove the tops, peel, and if very thick, slice in half. 
2. Into a large sauté pan, add your butter and fresh thyme; bring to medium-high heat.
3. Once the butter is melted and the thyme has perfumed the kitchen, add your carrots, sugar, and salt and pepper to taste.
4. Sauté the carrots until they are tender, approx. 5-10 minutes, depending upon the thickness of the carrots.
5. Plate, serve, and enjoy!

Tips + Tricks

**By adding the fresh thyme and butter to a cold pan, and bringing them all up to heat together, you are infusing the butter with the flavor of thyme. If you add your thyme to hot butter, you'll just fry your herbs and and missing out on so much flavor.
