Grilled Cheese Waffle Sandwich

These perfectly messy masterpieces were inspired by the seasonal waffle offerings at The Taste of Belgium. We made them first with pumpkin waffles, but they're also to-die-for with the gingerbread variety and their original waffle too.

Melt together the sweet and savory, using whichever kind of waffle you can get your paws on, and cut the richness with crunchy Pickled Green Beans for winning results. Offer them up at tonight's dinner table or quartered at Saturday's appetizer spread.

Yield: 6 sandwiches, or 24 appetizer bites , Prep time: 5-10 minutes , Cook time: 10 minutes

1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
2. Halve waffles horizontally and mix together all three cheeses.
3. Layer 1/2 cup of cheese mixture onto the center of each waffle.
4. Place on a cookie sheet and bake until the waffles are warm and the cheese is melted, about 10 minutes.
5. Serve sandwiches whole, or halved or quartered for appetizers; garnish each serving with a Pickled Green Bean.

Tips + Tricks

**We've chosen mozzarella for its meltiness, and swiss and gruyere for their nutty flavor. For gooier sandwiches, up the amount of mozzarella in the mixture.
