Skyline Sammies

Cincinnati chili is a staple in our homes and Skyline is our favorite brand. It's a downright divisive statement... And we stand by it all day long.

Unfortunately, sometimes folks who didn't grow up in Cincinnati just. don't. get it. It's a pity, really.

For those sad sad folks (wink), THIS is the gateway recipe that gets their attention. A hunk of beef -- kissed by the chocolate of Cincinnati chili, and crusted on the grill, and smothered with cream cheese -- works eeevery time.

Yield: 6-8 sandwiches , Prep time: 10 minutes , Cook time: 20 minutes

1. In a baking dish, combine your flank steak and Skyline Chili. Let marinate as long as you can – up to 48 hours, but only 20 minutes will work too.

2. Halve the baguette lengthwise. Smear cream cheese generously on each side.

3. After the steak has had time to marinate, drain the excess chili and place on a hot grill. Let cook for 5-10 minutes. When the first side has a great crust, flip and let finish cooking on the second side. Cook to your desired doneness. (The thicker the steak, the longer it will take to cook.)

4. Allow the steak to rest for 5 minutes, and then slice thinly. Layer the steak onto the cream cheese and garnish with diced onion and mustard. Serve right away.
