Snickers Sundae

Here's a scary simple sundae to compliment the Halloween week of sweets. And while it may be inspired by the spookiest day of the year, it's magically more delicious than any treats you'll find in a plastic pumpkin. A bowl of melty chocolate with homemade caramel sauce and salty peanuts is sure to satisfy better than a bucket of Snickers bars ever could.

Let this sauce be your secret potion for the season; it is to-die-for delicious over cake, shortbread, banana bread, and even stirred into yogurt.

Yield: 2 cups sauce , Prep time: 5 minutes , Cook time: 10 minutes

1. In a dry sauté pan, bring the sugar to medium-high heat and stir until it melts to a golden brown. Break up lumps of sugar with a wooden spoon and keep stirring.
2. Reduce the heat to medium and add the cream. *The sugar will seize up; keep stirring until the caramel melts into the cream and returns to a smooth consistency.*
3. Finally, add the chopped peanuts to the sauce and stir together.
4. Scoop a generous amount of chocolate ice cream into a bowl and finish with the hot caramel sauce. Enjoy right away.

Tips + Tricks

**If the caramel burns and becomes too dark, you'll have to start over or the sauce will taste totally burnt.
