Whole Cranberry Sauce

This is nothing but the back-of-the-bag recipe...allll doctored up! On Thanksgiving, and throughout cranberry season, we keep the basic design and then play with simple flavor and texture adds. Heat and crunch make all the difference; check the tips and tricks below for our go-to mix-ins.

Yield: 8 , Prep time: 2 minutes , Cook time: 10 minutes



1. Bring the sugar, water, fresh cranberries, and pinch of salt to a boil in a small sauce pot. Simmer until the cranberries burst. 
2. Cool completely. Refrigerate until service.

Tips + Tricks

**Add some aromatics -- a halved fresh chile, minced fresh ginger, orange zest -- to the cranberries while they are boiling. 
**You may also play with the liquid. Swap out the water called for for your favorite red wine or fruit juice.
**For added texture, stir in some chopped pecans or pistachios, or even pomegranate arils.
